Fall CSA
It's hard getting dinner on the table, let me help by bringing your weekly produce and some recipe ideas every Monday this fall (Sept 14th-Nov 9th)!
Skip the trip to the store, and keep hitting your fiber goals. I would love the opportunity to grow your produce for you.
Let me bring you your essentials -- your weekly salad mix, cucumbers, carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, dill, and tomatoes.
WHAT IS A CSA? Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a powerful way to support your local farmers. Cashflow at the beginning of the season is one of the biggest challenges we face. It can take a long time (even six months) for us to see a return on the money we spend growing our crops. CSAs are a great way for farmers to fund a chunk of our expenses without having to take out an operating loan. For me, specifically, it means I can grow more food for you all! I have the space but not the cash to scale up my operation, and with yall's help I have been able to make use of more space! I am growing more food than I ever had, and am looking forward to continuing to scale that production.
Each CSA box will contain a balance of:
Root Vegetables (like potatoes, carrots, radishes, or beets)
Leafy Greens (like head lettuce, salad mix, or microgreens), cooking greens (mustard greens, collard greens, swiss chard, or spinach)
Seasonal Staples (like tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, corn, squash, melons, and eggplant)
Culinary Herbs (like parsely, cilantro, sage, dill, or rosemary)
By purchasing a fall CSA share you will receive locally grown produce delivered to your door for nine Mondays--September 14th through November 9th, in Hillsborough, Carrboro, Chapel Hill, or now Durham!
A Full CSA share includes one each of all six items at $30/week.
A Half CSA share includes one each of three items (vegetable, green, and staple) at $15/week.
Per y'all's request, now offering an extra large share, containing double the produce, and one value-added item (so, eleven units of produce and one value-added unit).
You can add a bouquet to your weekly delivery for an additional $16/week.
Finally, given the recent spike in fuel costs, I will be adding a $10 delivery fee as well.
CLUB NOVA
Each time I run a CSA, I also offer an option for folks to purchase a CSA share for Club Nova of Carrboro, and I am touched by how many of you participated! They are a community center in Carrboro for folks with serious mental illness and offer lots of great services including meals for us to nourish ourselves and socialize together. Club Nova has for a long time partnered with the Carrboro Farmer's Market in sourcing produce. I have donated produce to them for a longtime and will continue to do so with your help!
